This thing is awesome, I just got it this morning and have been playing with it all day. It picks up the crystals if you move it fast enough. Sometimes the sweeper gets stuck, but overall I love it!!! FUN!!! FUN!!! FUN!!!

DISCLAIMER: My son has not played with this set yet!!!
My son is 12 years old and absolutely LOVES all the Power Miners sets that he has so far. I don't remember their names, but he has 3 "vehicles" and plays with them for hours on end. He may like them because he is older and can completely put them together himself and doesn't get too frustrated if they do fall apart. He begged me for this one for Christmas, so I have ordered it off of Amazon. I am reviewing it today just for parents and grandparents who maybe haven't bought Power Miners for their kids yet but are considering it for Christmas. Like I said, my 12 year old plays with his Power Miners every day, and two of his 12 year old friends also love Power Miners. It may be more appropriate for an older child instead of a younger child.

I am 6 years old and I think the Crystal Sweeper is the worst toy ever. (Mom is typing this and she would have to say it's not the WORST toy ever; he's just really disappointed. The whole reason he wanted it was because it would sweep crystals into the bucket -- hence the name.) The crystals don't sweep into the bucket. The rock monsters don't sweep into the bucket. (They really don't.) The things I like about it are the laptop, the minifigures, and all the machinery. Oh, and I like the banana. But I'm going to try making it into something else that really works.

The Crystal Sweeper makes a great addition to any Power Miners collection, or your first one, in my case. I was kinda disappointed in its not-so-good ability to pick up crystals, and its very poor ability to sweep up rock monsters. I think it has too many stickers to put on it. The motorbike on the back is pretty cool, too. Too bad it doesn't work well in carpet. This set is so cool!! Even though it is my only Power Miners set, it is still fun to play with. I 100% recommend this set. Pick it up. It is awesome!!!
