I purchased the Legos for a kindergarten class where I aide. The students immediately took to them. It is amazing to see the structures created as the kids use the Legos as tools and materials to build visions from their minds. I am very happy to have so much impact from a "simple" purchase!

Even though my son is 3 he still puts everything in his mouth and he has an unusually large (wide and deep)mouth. So regular legos are completely out of the question. When he was 2 I had to remove the smallest squares from the set, but now he plays with the complete set. Ocassionally I still find him trying to put the legos in his mouth, but for the most part he only builds things with them - parking spaces, hospitals, all types of buildings, architectural balancing acts, vehicles, etc. They are sturdy, colorful, durable and can be easily washed and sanitized without damage to the bricks. Also, Megablocks, while not a perfect fit, do fit fairly well with these duplo legos which allows my son to have a larger selection of bricks as well as the megablock theme toys (such as the Pixar cars and playsets) to play with. It would be nice if there were more than just 1 each of the narrow 1/2 inch x 2 inch rectangles as for some reason he just loves that shape. Otherwise, it's a great toy at a good price. (No need to pay more for fancy packaging when the only thing a year old cares about are the bricks. And honestly, how many of you still have the original container your child's 1st set of legos came in?)

We bought the Ultimate LEGO DUPLO Building Set set for our almost-2-year-old for Christmas, and he loves it. I think Mom and Dad love it even more! But it just seemed like there weren't quite enough blocks for our creations. We bought this set of Duplos to complement the Ultimate set, along with the LEGO 15 x 15-inch Building Plate, and now we have more than enough blocks for anything we'd like to make.
The Duplos are incredibly sturdy, and they're bright and colorful. My toddler finds them absolutely irresistible. (In fact, I have to keep them out of reach when I can't supervise, or else I'll be finding blocks all over the house.) I think they're great at teaching hand-eye coordination and just letting him be creative. I love toys that let kids use their imagination, and Duplos are awesome at doing just that.

Looked at this same ad about a week ago, was $37. Now $140. What a rip off!

Our 2 1/2 year old has fun for hours building a Frosty the Snowman house and towers. Helps with hand eye coordination.
