I always wanted to have a cool Lego, but never could afford to one, this time I take the time to get this cool Vader's TIE, and was incredible build, search, put in order all pieces, sometimes I had got lost before get excited. The toy is all fun. I take more than 24H, to build.

Nice model, and if you are careful, you can play with it a little. My son pretends when it falls apart that it was hit in battle. Lego's do a nice job with there Star Wars toys.

This is a great kit! It was a lot of fun to put together. If you are a Starwars and/or Lego fan, it is worth getting.
I want to post about the durability...simply for awareness. To me, lack of durability is a small enough issue that it is still worth getting. As others have mentioned, it is definitely not for playing. If you try it, there's a good chance something will come apart. Display only.
The base is...okay. It is nice in that it is unobtrusive and does not take away visually from the TIE Fighter, but because it is narrow the setup is precarious. The TIE Fighter is heavy, and even on the stand it is prone to wobbling and toppling. I brought mine to my cubicle at work...foolish perhaps...and it was knocked over by one of the cleaning people. It broke into many sections.
As an annoyance, the front of the stand relies on the seat in the cockpit to hold the model up, but there isn't anything holding the seat in place. It often pops out if you move the thing around at all. I modified the stand a bit to make it sturdier.
If it does come apart, it is tricky to put back together. Because you can't just set it down...especially if it's in pieces, you have to hold the main model in one hand and try to put it back together with the other. This is a particular problem with the "wings".
Since it is best used for display, durability is mostly inconsequential, but it may be helpful to be aware. I am going to see if I can build a sturdier base...
Oh yeah...it would be nice if it came with a Vader mini-figure...but alas... :)

I built this set in about four hours one afternoon. It looks very impressive sitting on my bookshelf, and is built quite strong. However, don't expect to play with it. It's a collector's item and is not intended to be played with or used as an actual toy. It's really more of a decoration, just like all the other Ultimate Collector Series Lego sets.

This was the first lego I built since childhood, so it brings back a lot of nice childhood memory. When I was building this product, I noticed how well this lego is engineered. The body is built to be rigid and torsionally strong. And the side panels are also well engineered. You have to build the side panel exactly right otherwise the panel well curve and you can't fit it to the craft.
However, you if have a kid, who wants to play with this product after it is built, it seems to me that it is very big and heavy for a kid to play with. Also there are some parts that are snapped on to the main body which may be loosely fitted.
After it is built, it is fitted on a stand. I find that the front slot that support the stand can easily become loose and come undone as it is not very well reinforced. When you have finally finish the product and display somewhere you will find that it is a big and intimidating object you have got on your hand.
