My son loves listening to music as he goes to bed. The old CD player we got him was too complicated. This one is easier for him to use. The volume knob is huge and easy to use for a toddler, but the play and stop buttons are small and can be hard to find.
When we first played a CD on it, my husband and I looked at each other in surprise. The sound was great. The only thing I wish it had was a sleep timer. Since it is NOT a clock, there is no sleep timer. The good thing about not having a clock with a child is that the alarm cannot become accidentally set by a child and then go off in the middle of the night like his last clock radio did.

I bought this for my 4-year old despite some of the negative reviews because my son loves Legos so much. You would have thought it was Christmas again my son was so excited about his new CD player. Right out of the box, the CD player worked alright, although the sound was pretty terrible. Within two days, the CD player just quit reading any CDs. My son was very careful with it, so it didn't break from being banged around. Needless to say, I had to send it back, and now I have one very dissappointed 4-year old.

I'm sorry to hear about the bad reviews because this turned out to be a great little radio & CD player. I didn't buy it for a child. I bought it for my office and it's been a real hit. It's a cool looking radio with decent sound for an office. The CD player runs fine and plays with decent sound as well. If you don't want to break the bank, want a funky little radio/CD player, this one is great.

We purchased this cd player as a Christmas gift for our son. Within days, the lid refused to shut. We exchanged it for another. After it was opened once, the lid on the replacement cd player also would not shut either. There is clearly some design flaw with the lid. Lego products are usually well made, this product is very disappointing.

This product came out of the box broken. The CD door refuses to close and latch. When called, the company acknowledged that this is a common problem with this product. However, the company also expects us to pay postage to send them the broken boombox so that they can fix it or replace it. My son loves the way it looks, but he has never used it. So heed my warning: as cute as it is, there is at least a chance that it will be flawed and it is definite that the company does not care.
