Matau is awsome u can turn a gear on his back and his arms swing back and forth. Another cool thing is that u can put Matau's aero slicers on the "half-circle and half-plus thing" on his back to act as glider wings. Instructions r easy, and theres a Kanoka Card so u can enter the numbers and letters on bionicle.com so u can get points for ur Kanoka account. Matau comes with 44 bionicle pieces. I have resisted buying these because they seemed so cheap...also the usual question we parents always ask ourselves..."What are they going to do with them?"
My son received his first bionicle from a friend on his ninth birthday...it was cleverly the "bow" on a birthday present. I now regret overlooking this wonderful line of "lego's" for so long! My boys love these! They have the best time building them and an even better time playing with them.
They are priced reasonably so you can always pick-up one as a treat during trips out "shopping". If you encourage your children to "save-up" for some of their "wants", the cost of these is low enough that it doesn't take them months and months to realize their goal.
Please do not make the same mistake I made and misjudge these toys. You will be denying your child a great experience.
Although the manufacturer suggests ages 7 and up, I do not feel a child younger than 8 or 9 would be able to independently put this toy together. My 7 year old needs some help putting these together, but he loves to try all by himself. That is the point of Lego's, to construct and play. The primary benefit, in my opinion, is the satisfaction of "doing it" yourself!

This toy is AWESOME.This toy is easily my 2nd favorite that I own(7 in all,) next to the white Rahkshi.I love his wings that become swords, but it's hard to get them out of his hands, so the best thing to do is put them in half way.I own 2 Rahkshi (Green & white) 2 Bohrok (Black & brown) and 2 Toa Metru (Green & Black) but this is my 2nd favorite.

Like I said in the title, this is the best toy ever! I really like him because his swords can be used as wings. The only drawback is if you put his swords in his hands you will never get them out. I easily rate this toy 5 stars. I hope this was helpful to you.

and the mask stays on better than the previous toa.
