 "Lewa Nuva..........................Phantoka Version!" 2008-08-10
By Manuel F. Varela
Lewa Nuva is the Phantoka Toa of Air He has, like, 59 pieces, I think, since I accidently threw it away. Lewa has a Midak Skyblaster, which is kind of like the '06 Zamor Sphere launchers. But the Skyblaster holds four spheres of Light. If you also buy the Matoran of Light, Tanma, you can connect him to Lewa's back. You can also do that with any of the Matoran of Light (Tanma, Photok, Solek), or the Shadow Matoran (Radiak, Gavla, Kirop).

*Pros*

Sword is big and cool!

Mask is just so cool!

Matoran can connect to his back, and they look cool that way!

Jetpacks are awsome!

*Cons*

None!

*New pieces*

Hand, arm and leg pieces (changed a bit but still work the same way)

Mask

Midak SBlaster

Midak SBLaster Spheres of Light

Sword

Jetpacks

Matoran connecter piece

"this line is good for developing brains!" 2008-07-25
By Carol Clary (Cleveland, OH)
I have bought many of these Polynesian named Lego kits for my 5 year old

grandson who lives on the west coast and he adores them. My daughter says

that when one arrives in the mail it's like having a babysitter for the

next three hours. He is challenged by them and tackles with a will even the ones I sent by mistake that are supposedly for 8 to 16 year olds.

Since the directions are mostly illustrations he can do these constructions on his own and takes great pride in doing so. They are quite

Sci-fi looking creatures he creates and he enjoys their grandiose appearance. Sometimes he'll immediately take them apart and regain the

pleasure of putting them back together again. To be honest I can't recall

his specific response to this specific one but I know that he has loved

them all very much. After his mother mentioned to the pediatrician what

he could do at 5 the Dr. said that clearly he has a "3-D" brain. His dad is an engineer so maybe he has that same mechanical ability inborn in him. But I do think that most little boys would enjoy these toys that

develop the skill of construction and following directions. They can be

challenging but he's seldom frustrated by any of them. Carol Clary

 "Fun!" 2008-02-03
By Jesse Hughes (Allen Park, MI United States)
Lewa here is the first of the 2008 Toa I got, and won't be the last!

First off, he's Lewa, right? So if you've seen Bionicle: Mask of Light- you know you have to love him.

This new Lewa is awesome. Tall, cool looking. I'm pretty into this new lime green color. He's got plenty of new parts to get old-school Bionicle fans excioted:

Sword- big and intimidating!

Mask- As a MOC'er, I'm always thrilled to see a new mask style

Spikey wing-like things that reach over his shoulders. I don't know what they're for, but they look sweet.

Jetpacks- yes jetpacks! I always thought of Tahu as more jetpack-y, but maybe that's because Lewa could fly already. Either way, they are awesome.

I also got Tanma- who seems to me Lewa's Matoran partner. Their masks- while different- look similar. Plus, the two figures attach to each other, looking like Lewa is carrying Tanma through the sky. Jetpacks, y'all!

This year's Bionicle sets look like they're going to be fun. Seems like someone at Lego got a big creative inspiration.

"Toa Lewa Nuva Phantoka of Air" 2007-12-31
By Sandra Barnett
This is a great set to buy. I like how tall he is, and the jetpack on his arms. He also carries the Midak Skyblaster. It contains 4 silver spheres that are the same as Zamors and is easy to fire. The new pieces are the Midak Skyblaster, the mask, the weapon, the jetpacks, and the hands, which are a little different from earlier sets. I recommend this set to anyone.
