This is a great set. If you have LEGO Duplo stuff, then this can be a way to add more complicated toys that are still LEGO Duplo compatible.



My son got this for Christmas, and was more excited about the fork lift than the plane at first.



This is a high quality toy. Well engineered parts made from durable and safe materials.



The plane rolls on a smooth surface pretty well and the fork lift can tow the plane using the standarized hook system. (That's why LEGO is so fun -- everything works with everything else!)



Small vehicles can be loaded into the plane using the ramp in the back. Duplo vehicles are too big, but Matchbox cars will go inside. And of course Duplos.



There are no noise making devices with this toy. That's a good thing.

My son saved his money and bought this cargo ship by himself. He LOVES it. He has definitely gotten his moneys' worth! He plays with it in the tub and in the lake. He loves to use different items as cargo and "deliver" the cargo from point A to point B. Definitely buy the underwater motor to go with it. Well-built great toy.

This is quite large, but our kids (now 6 and 4) love playing with it in the bathtub. Having few small parts is a blessing because they'd all be clogging the drain if there were any.

As with the other poster, the roof on the crew compartment doesn't stay in place. I guess it is meant to be removed easily so you can play with figures in the cabin. The blinking buoys have lasted two years and counting on the original battery.

Playmobil generally makes excellent toys, and the cargo ship is no exception. Best if you have a small pool in the backyard, but it can also be rolled around the floor without any problem. My nephew received his with great enthusiasm, and sails alongside (or in mock battle against) his little brother's Playmobil pirate ship. It comes with fake coal (tiny bits that are guaranteed to get lost pretty quickly) but you can put whatever you want in the hold -- it's even large enough for a Playmobil car.



The removable roof on the crew compartment aft doesn't snap in place quite right. I'm not sure if this is a problem with our particular copy of the toy, or an flaw in design (which would be unusual for Playmobil). My only other minor complaint is that it comes with only two crew figures and relatively few accessories compared to other sets (and considering the cost).

Sure it's a bit pricey and takes a while to complete (this is one for a builder and it DOES take patience), but IT'S WORTH IT. Remember the LEGO City passenger plane from a year or two back?...when this LEGO Cargo Plane retires, it's gonna be worth some cheese. This plane looks beautiful, looking almost like a cross between a Hercules and a 747. I only have two problems: 1, it only came with one pilot. 2, the stairway for the plane is impossible to get out after loading, because the hitch is on the other side. That can be fixed easy, and in the end is not a problem.
